Spencer Buley Group proudly represent the two world leaders and longest established in their field for interior & exterior design ‘Tillberg Design of Sweden’ & superyacht naval architects ‘Laurent Giles’, meaning when a client comes to us they cut out the middle man and avoid unnecessary broker/commission fees, we are entirely independent – Meaning our clients best interest are always at the centre of everything we do.
Each project is assigned a Yacht Director / designate point of contact for the entire design.
How it works
Whether it’s a superyacht new build or refit, motor or sailing superyacht, expedition Superyacht to a luxury cruise yacht, Spencer Buley Group only hand selects the finest to bring round the design table. We do this as it allows innovation by design and saves our clients tens of millions in some cases on something they either don’t need or didn’t account for.
Typically on an expedition superyacht/luxury cruise yacht project for example we would assemble the following team:
Laurent Giles Naval Architects
Est in 1927, the worlds finest & longest established Superyacht Design & Naval Architects. Celebrating 93 years, over 1500 successfully completed projects. There really isn’t anyone else more experienced than this team based out of Lymington in the UK.
Tillberg Design of Sweden
Est in 1964, an international award-winning full service interior & exterior design firm. Celebrating 56 years as the world leaders for the cruise, luxury cruise yacht and superyacht sector. Having carried out over 350 projects in their time, starting out in what once was the high end luxury cruise market, has given TDoS a mentality that many fall short, they can meet tight time frames and truly offer value for money. Time is something our clients can’t buy. A slip up within the interior process can put a project back months. That’s something that does not fly with us.
Triton Submarines
Triton Submarines is the world-leading private submersible manufacturer delivering luxury deep submersibles and tourist submarines to large private yachts, commercial tourism operations, the boutique cruise ship industry, marine research institutions, oil & gas, security, and archeological initiatives.
The company senior staff has over 400 years of dedicated civil submarine experience with over 90 vehicles and Triton pilots have made over 30,000 dives in manned submersibles.
Triton offers 11 different models. There really isn’t anyone better to assist in designing the right entry and exit along with the custom sub itself.

Founded in 2009, Cookson Adventures has pioneered the concept of world firsts in luxury adventure travel. From organising the first manned submersible dive in Antarctica to carrying out crucial conservation work in the Galápagos Islands, the company is putting innovation at the heart of extraordinary journeys. Adventures are designed for people and it’s vital we understand the client’s requirements in order to fulfil the design brief.
Experienced Project Managers & Yacht Captains
SBG work with the worlds most experienced project managers & superyacht captains that have operational knowledge, multiple build experience and can spot pit falls on the horizon. Again its tailoring the yacht to the client and its only experience that can get you there. To often have we heard horror stories from clients who have gone to various supposed new build yacht experts/designers and have said that wasn’t right for me, can you fix it or design me a new one.

Many would question why would you bring a paint firm around the design table early on, and not any ordinary paint company I may add, AkzoNobel has had a passion for paint since 1792. Their world class portfolio of brands – including International, AWLGRIP, Sikkens and Interpon to name a few – is trusted by customers around the globe. What they bring is centuries worth of experience. When you are designing a custom yacht, there are stress areas which if not spotted early on in the design and can result in stress cracks later on down the line and expensive repairs!
